Subaru STi + Yamaha SR400
2009 Subaru STi
Below is a picture of my Subaru STi, purchased 2010 and sold in 2016 before moving to San Francisco. In Front is my Yamaha SR400 Motorcycle purchased in 2017.
I’ve visited Clarion Alley in San Francisco a few years earlier in 2013 and took pictures of my car straight on with my iPhone. Years Later, seeing these shots unused, I went to the same location with my motorcycle and DSLR and took some pictures knowing that I will be compositing my motorcycle in front.

DEUS EX MACHINA
SANTA MONICA, STORE AND CAFE
Before : Place my motorcycle in front of DEUS’s popular Motorcyle artwork. Originally the shot was to have my motorcycle have a similar stance to the illustration. However, this area is for car parking and there was a car to the right of me which made me squeeze in for worm’s eye view. The front of the car covered the right part of the side entrance so I turn the wheel to the right and that made the front end the focal point /1st read and the illustrations the 2nd.
After : Retuching this image I went ahead and cleaned the floor and removed all brackets from the side entrance. The lights were distracting, so they were removed and then the wall was lengthened. All the details of the motorcycle were brought out and the Chrome was enhanced by pushing the reflectivity. To make this happen was to push the cores for the darker blue sky and also making the haze bright white for deep contrast. The 60th Yamaha Anniversary tank was color matched and reflectivity made deeper.
